University of Hawaii
Case Study

Overview
After recognizing the increase in performance that the State of Hawaii had procured, the University of Hawaii (UH) tested the PIPS process in 2000. The University wanted to increase the quality of painting and roofing projects, shift construction risk to contractors, and make the UH more efficient. The process was tested on 12 roofing, painting, and flooring projects. All of the projects were completed on time (or ahead of schedule), and to the users' disbelief, without any change orders.
