United Airlines
Case Study Overview The United Airlines (UAL) San Francisco Maintenance Center implemented the PIPS process in 1997. The process was initially tested on a roofing project, but soon spread to many other specialty construction areas (painting, flooring, elevators, asbestos abatement, general construction, lighting, underground storage tank, and high-speed roll-up doors). The user stated that the PIPS projects were the best that he had seen in over twenty years of construction.
