U.S. Army Medical Command

General Overview

In 2004, the US Army Medical Command (Medcom) tested the PIPS process on three renovation projects throughout the United States. During the implementation, Medcom realized that they needed a system to assist them in tracking the status of their projects at different phases in procurement and construction. The focus of this research has shifted from simply implementing a best-value system, to creating a revolutionary new system (PIRMS) that will track the overall performance of their external vendors, projects, and internal staff to assist Medcom in becoming more efficient.
