Project Overview

This will be a $42.7 million multi-level, 145,000 square-foot office/laboratory building for the Air Force.  The facility will include specialized light/medium laboratory facilities aimed at studying the space environment and its effects on satellite operations as well as missions involving communication and navigation signals that must pass through the earth's ionosphere.  The structure will feature a Class 1000 clean room, passenger and freight elevators, a reinforced concrete foundation, multi-zone HVAC system, stucco finished CMU walls, structural steel frame, a hemispheric roof dome for fixed Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) and another for an optical telescope, a vacuum pump installation, a 12/15/20 MVA electrical substation and an insulated roof.  Construction includes and all utilities and site work.
