Moos Tower Low Rise Elevator Upgrades

Project Overview
The project is modernization of three (3) low rise, gearless traction passenger elevators No. 1, 2, and 3 in the Moos Tower. The work shall include all engineering, equipment, labor and permits to complete the work for the elevator modernization with new equipment including all required staging, hoisting, dismantling of existing equipment, related abatement of asbestos and lead / encapsulation of hazardous asbestos materials and removal of equipment (including collection and packaging of other hazardous materials).
The general scope of work shall include removal of elevator cabs and construction of railing to provide temporary work platforms and protective barriers between cars to perform repairs within the common hoistway, providing new elevator equipment, abatement of hazardous materials necessary to construct new walls within the hoistway, encapsulation of remaining fire proofing, installation of a new catwalk at the lower level, and constructing access stairs and railings.
The mechanical scope of work shall include the demolition of the existing steam and exhaust equipment located in the Elevator Machine room, abatement of asbestos as necessary for mechanical work, installation of new fire dampers and hoistway relief dampers into the existing hoistway relief ductwork, installation of a new electric/DX rooftop unit and distribution ductwork to serve the renovated elevator machine room, installation of an extension to the existing exhaust fan discharge ductwork located on the roof adjacent to the machine room, and connection of the new RTU controls and machine room space alarm to the existing University building automation system.
The electrical scope of work shall include the demolition of the existing elevator machine room lighting and receptacles, demolition of the existing hoistway lighting, receptacles and fire alarm, installation of new elevator disconnects with connections to existing electrical distribution board, make connection to new elevator controllers for electrical, pre-signal, fire alarm and communications, make connections to new rooftop unit and dampers, installation of new elevator machine room lights and receptacles, installation of new hoistway lights and receptacles, installation of new elevator lobby smoke detectors, and installation of new exterior pathway lights to elevator machine room. An alternate to base price shall include the replacement of existing Automatic Transfer switch with new unit.
