Project Overview |
The project encompasses 5 rooms in the Paine Music Building, (Official Address: 3 Kirkland Street). They are Rooms, 22, 31A, 31B, 32 and 33 and are in total, approximately, 1100 square feet. Convert Rooms into acoustically sound classrooms, with Noise Criteria Ratings of NC 25 for rooms 22 and 23, and NC 20 for rooms 31a, 31b and 32. The Paine Building has no central cooling or ventilation. The building is heated by steam radiators and the rooms to be renovated are currently cooled using window air conditioners. To create the acoustically sound studio facility, the rooms involved must be acoustically isolated so they will have to be heated and cooled by a new remotely located mechanical equipment including a new, roof mounted air handler and fan coil units In addition, acoustic treatment of the walls, ceilings and windows will be required.
