Jonathan Lavash is currently a director of Harvard University’s real estate project management group. Jonathan has worked in project management for over 25 years, initially managing very large industrial projects domestically and internationally for multi-national corporations. Upon return to the northeast of the USA, Jonathan managed projects in the public sector, working as the director of capital projects for the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Leaving the public sector, Jonathan joined the institutional development world of Harvard University’s Real Estate Services Department where he managed projects for over ten years as a senior project manager. Harvard University project management employs a concept-to-completion model where projects are managed by a single manager from feasibility study through successful close-out.

As a director, responsibilities now include strategic staffing and planning, as well as deployment of and responsibility for a dozen project managers working on over 50 projects worth $650 million. Capital planning, portfolio management, and procurement strategy improvements are responsibilities that Jonathan shares with other senior staff members.

Project accomplishments include independently managing over 50 projects ranging to $110 million, including seven new buildings totaling well over one million square feet; notably, One Western Avenue, Botanic Gardens Children's Center, Rosovsky Hall for Harvard-Radcliffe Hillel; the Lombardi Building, the Area IV Teen Center, the Tip O’Neill Golf Course Building, Danehey Park, the Lechmere Canal Park, and two 1,000-space municipal parking structures.
