Before retiring, Kip Eder served as Technical Services Manager for the Division of Engineering and Architectural Services, Department of General Administration, in the State of Washington. For the past ten years, Eder has created networked systems that support public works project tracking, A/E consultant selection, project performance evaluation, Internet bid package distribution, the state Small Works Roster, Job Order Contracting, and reimbursable services contracting. Prior to assuming his present position as Technical Services Manager, Eder acted as project manager during the completion of two state office buildings with a combined budget of $130 million.

Eder has a diverse, 34-year background in the construction industry. Although he started his professional career as a nuclear engineer, his experience includes 10 years as principal of an architectural firm and 4 years as the Vice President of Architecture for a nationwide motel chain. He served 13 years at the University of Idaho as an Associate Professor of Architecture, teaching architectural design in addition to the mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering courses. Eder has been a mechanical subcontractor, an inventor, and a manufacturer of energy equipment. He has 5 years experience as a developer of motels and high-end condominiums.
