Student Workers
The PBSRG is always looking for smart, motivated, and reliable students that are looking for part time work on campus. You must be enrolled full time at ASU to be eligible. Most student workers work 15-20 hours per week (but we are very flexible with work hours). Student workers are responsible for a variety of tasks, including: data entry, filing, phone calls, documentation and organization, preparing contact lists, and other administrative functions. Students that show outstanding performance may be given the opportunity for a part-time staff position.

Job Description
The Performance Based Studies Research Group (PBSRG) is a research department within the Del E. Webb School of Construction (Ira A Fulton School of Engineering). The PBSRG specializes in increasing the efficiency of organizations by minimizing management and non-value added functions. The research that we perform can be applied to engineering, architecture, construction, and business related fields.

The PBSRG conducts research on real test projects (not lab or simulated projects), and then we publish the results in various journals and presentations. The PBSRG is looking for highly motivated students that are looking for a steady part-time position on campus.

Hours
We are flexible. We are looking for approximately 20 hours per week during the semester. You may work 40 hours during the summer depending on how many projects we have.

Minimum Requirements
-Must be an ASU student
-Must be very familiar with MS Word
-Must have knowledge with MS Excel
-Must be punctual and reliable

Graduate Assistant / Part-Time Staff
The PBSRG has slots available for graduate assistants and part-time staff. The PBSRG is looking for individuals who can be consultants and who are integrated into our research effort immediately. However, there are strict guidelines that must be met in order to be considered. Potential staff must do the following:

  • Write a journal paper on our research.
  • Complete the PIPS/IMT class and show outstanding academic/consulting aptitude.
  • Be hired on as a student worker for a semester.
  • Show interest in being an expert in this area or research (and not only wanting a research job to fund themselves).
  • Have the skills to be a future educator / expert.
  • Want to get their PhD.

The PBSRG does not hire unless the above requirements are met. No exceptions.
